FSF and SD Statement on new Chief Executive

In a statement published to the Supporters Direct website today, details have been released in relation to the newly appointed Chief Executive of the new organisation formed by the merger of Supporters Direct and the Football Supporters Federation, the leading supporter organisations representing the interests of football supporters.

The statement read

"The Appointments Panel of the Football Supporters Federation and Supporters Direct Interim Board have confirmed the appointment of Kevin Miles as the new organisation's chief executive.

At this summers AGM, members of both the FSF and SD voted to work towards one unified supporters organisation and, as part of that process, both existing chief executive's were interviewed for the role of chief executive of the new body.

The appointments panel agreed it was important for the new organisation to seek to maintain the services of Ashley Brown, whose experience and achievements as chief executive of SD, and as a fan owner at Porstmouth, will be of great value to our new organisation.

The panel was chaired by an Independent person, Lord Keith Bradley, who was able to provide an outside perspective, which was of great assistance. Both the FSF and SD would like to thank Lord Bradley for his commitment to the process. FSF chair Malcolm Clarke and SD chair Tom Greatrex also sat on the appointments panel and co-chaired the Interim Board"....
