Whilst the Trust fully understands the events of today with the dismissal of Matt Taylor as Head Coach , we believe this is part of the general malaise of the club.
The appointment of his replacement is probably the most important decision the Club will ever make as relegation to the National League beckons.
The Director of Football has been responsible for the recruitment of the Head Coach and the playing staff who have, with the odd exception, performed so badly, so far this season. Surely, HIS performance should be under the closest scrutiny as a matter of priority and, indeed, how HE was recruited without any apparent due diligence performed.
The results of the Development and Academy teams this season have also been poor.
Relegation to the National League will have a serious effect on staff employed at the Club and the Town of Walsall in general.
It is sometime since we had a successful manager Dean Smith. We also have the situation where our manager was not successful with us but left to join Port Vale where he is successful. Why?
Finally the 'Matchday Experience ' this season has been the source of many complaints , improvements have been made , but attention to detail is seriously lacking.
A fundamental aim of Supporters Trusts is to protect the future of their Club , and this will certainly be the focus of the Trust Board in the coming months.
